Love that God blessed me with a creative gift to share! Love creating new embroidery, needlework and patchwork projects of all kinds! Passionate about my family and my faith. Love where we live on the south coast! Wish I had more time to be creative!!
This little hanging, the bags and the bear are Sylvia's projects for our stitching days this weekend - thought it easier to share the photos with you here also! Looking forward to stitching with you all! Fiona x
Due to a number of requests - these are some of the projects we will be working on at the "Stitching on the Lake" Day in Canberra this Saturday. Some of you will have seen these pictures already posted but some of the Canberra ladies may not have! Sylvia has posted some of her projects on her blog http://sylviastitch.blogspot.com/ so enjoy looking at those also! We are looking forward to seeing you on Saturday in Canberra and Sunday in Queanbeyan! Fiona x
One of my favourite pieces of embroidery which I completed a number of years ago comprises hardanger and variegated thread stitching with the verse "As for me and my house... we will serve the Lord". Perhaps the photo doesn't do it justice ... but I love it! Fiona x
I am so lucky to have such a lovely friend as Sylvia who made me this beautiful miniature framed quilt for my birthday a year or two ago! The pieces are so tiny and the work so beautiful and it is framed and hangs on my sewing room wall! Very spoilt! Fiona x
Taking some photos for our Stitching Days coming up in the next week and put these two together! Same pattern but worked in different colours they look entirely different. The black one is a brooch and the green one is a scissor hanging! Always fun to stitch little canvas work projects! Fiona x
Shopping down at Stephs in Moruya last week and I couldn't resist these fabulous Moda Charisma charm squares and jelly roll! The colours are bright and fantastic and I'm looking for inspiration to create something special with them! Fiona x
This is one of my favourite pieces of embroidery - it is the lid of a small sewing basket which holds lots of little bits and pieces. I completed the embroidery a few years ago now but it is still in use every day and the little basket is filled with the most amazing assortment of bits and pieces - buttons, charms, ribbons, etc. Fiona x
Just home from work and this is what Ash has done with the little coloured resin blocks - a pair of shoes in the making - nearly ready to be sent around the world for the next part of the project! Up close, the colours are fabulous and the shoes will look great! She is doing jewellery to match too! Fiona x
Just finishing off this little butterfly sampler which I adapted from a Victoria Sampler pattern. As usual I changed colours and played around with it a little bit but I do like the result. Just have to find my box of little treasures so I can put a charm on the bottom and then add some little Mill Hill Beads! Fiona x
And I am looking for a hardanger pattern which I know I have somewhere safe! I came across this little hardanger angel I made a while ago - simple yet elegant and lots of fun for those of us who love hardanger embroidery! Fiona x
Ashleigh's boyfriend Tim belongs to Claudia (who is our surrogate pet)! Boys just back from the surf and Ashleigh working on her project so Claudia is patiently waiting for someone to take her back down to the beach!
This is my daughter Ashleigh's latest design project - she is in 4th year of a degree in design in Sydney and is involved in an international project with London and South America at the moment. She received this little parcel of sewing bits and pieces all made into small resin blocks this week and is adding her bit to it to make it into a design to be forwarded on to South America! I'll keep you posted as to what she comes up with! Fiona x
