Love that God blessed me with a creative gift to share! Love creating new embroidery, needlework and patchwork projects of all kinds! Passionate about my family and my faith. Love where we live on the south coast! Wish I had more time to be creative!!
And the farm has the magnificent Pigeon House Mountain as a backdrop - which just looked spectacular in the afternoon sun! Captain James Cook named Pigeon House Mountain for obvious reasons! We have walked to the top heaps of times but not yesterday - we wandered around the farm checking out all the baby calves instead! So much more relaxing!
How gorgeous is No. 59? We visited our friends on a nearby farm yesterday - it was such a perfect day and all their cows are calving - so cute! No. 59 was in labour and looked to be a bit over it all but she has the most beautiful face and a curly hairdo don't you think?
This is what I hope to achieve when I sew together (by hand) all these little pies and tarts to make this quilt! I loved the richness of the fabrics and the fact that it was all handpieced and paperpieced so I signed up at the Craft Fair in Sydney recently. I received my first pack of fabrics this week and am very excited about the eventual outcome!
This afternoon I finished stitching together this cute little Christmas Strawberry! Thought I would share it with you! I have adapted a pattern from Mill Hil to make this Christmas Strawberry - not sure whether to add scissors for a scissor keep or use it as a decoration!
Just a reminder to those of you in Canberra and surrounds, the next "Stitching on the Lake" Day is to be held on Saturday 12th September 2009. Emails and letters have been sent this week. If you would like to join us you will need to be quick! If you need a registration form, let me know! This is a snapshot of our Stitching on the Lake Day held in May 2009.
Another great project in the book is "Gathering Pieces" quilt which I just loved for the designs and colours used. Not quite sure when these will get made but I will add them to the list of "Things to Do When I Retire"!!!! (which will not be for a long while yet!) Have a great day!
I bought a beautiful book recently at the Craft Fair in Sydney titled "A Road Less Travelled" by Sue Daly. It has some beautiful pieces in it, including this gorgeous quilt entitled "From Me to You". Paper pieced and just superb! Very inspiring!
I received a lovely parcel in the post today all the way from Jessica in Florida! Thanks so much Jessica for my lovely little floss tag, cupcake lip gloss (tastes yummy), very cute ribbon and a fabulous little box to keep it all in! What a lovely surprise!
This is a snippet of a beautiful little felt kit which I purchased at the Craft Show recently in Sydney. I should be doing other stitching but this just "tickles my fancy" today and I have a day off work and no Needlework class so I am enjoying playing with this design.
This is a bright and warm quilt which Chelsea made in her last year of school - adapted from a pattern appropriately named "Chelsea Bloom" - I got this out of the cupboard and it has been keeping me warm in her absence!
We put Chelsea on the plane to London the other day! Here she is with her dadeda (grandpa) a few weeks ago celebrating her 19th birthday! And while she is away I can share the following photo with you!!
And here is a finished crocheted toy ball which Marianne has already made - crochet motifs joined together and filled with fibrefill - a great toy for a new babe and easy to assemble. Thanks for sharing this with us Marianne!
