Anyway .... not much time for stitching lately but I am sharing this photo of Sylvia's of a stitching lanyard which we will be working on at Needlework this week when we resume after our Christmas/New Year break. I have added a name tag to the bottom also! My camera is having a slight breakdown so haven't been able to take photos the past week or so.
I can't believe it is the end of January 2010 already! Doesn't time fly??

The building is the wine tasting area and this evening we are fortunate to be going to a wonderful dinner hosted by the winery. We will sit on the balcony, enjoy wonderful food and wine, and I'll let you know all about it tomorrow! Enjoy your day!

Most of you will know that we live by the beach on the beautiful south coast of New South Wales so I thought I would share some photos of our beaches to celebrate this 1 year anniversary. After all, the seed was planted after a discussion on our beach with my good friend Sylvia!
As you can see, the rock pools and shells and sea life provide an endless source of wonder and beauty and not a day goes by that we don't walk around the beaches and headlands near us and are thankful for this pristine area in which live. Thank you all for sharing the last twelve months with me - long may the journey continue!

It is full of lovely stitching projects like this lovely sewing basket which I could just be tempted to put together!
And lots of lovely scissor keepers which never go astray in my house (or sewing room). I'm definitely looking forward to playing with some ideas from this book.

As it is a rainy day here and I am trying to work through my sewing room, I decided I need to be back on this beautiful island I was on last week. My daughter bought an underwater camera on her way through customs and I borrowed it and took this picture whilst snorkelling! Isn't it a beautiful idyllic slice of heaven? OK ... so now back to the sewing room!
And these are the lucky Tuesday night ladies who will get to use this wonderful new machine!
And the Wednesday morning ladies too! Ladies, I hope you are all having a great holiday break from Needlework, and completing your "homework" and are looking forward to getting back together again in February! I'm looking forward to seeing you all! xx

On a walk around the island we came across this crab with the most intricate markings - not sure that my camera is equipped to pick up all the detail but this was as close as I could get and it was gorgeous!
And the view from the balcony of our bure! What can I say? Breathtaking! I'm thinking I might put this on my computer at work to savour the memories! After my first day back at work yesterday I need another holiday!!
And everywhere you look on Tavarua there is a beautiful scene! So now I must concentrate on some stitching projects for this year for our Needlework Group!!

These beautiful little bures were dotted around the island - some with hammocks so we could just laze about and read - which we did a lot of!
Tavarua is renowned for a couple of the best surfing breaks in the world which is why the children and their partners were there - we enjoyed an afternoon out on the reef in a long boat watching them surf the famous "Cloudbreaks" surfing spot - just a 5 minute ride from Tavarua Island!
And the view from the restaurant over the top of the swimming pool and out to the "Restaurants" break was what we enjoyed every breakfast, lunch and dinner! Six days was not long enough though and we are looking forward to going back with the whole family maybe next year! Now I really must get into some stitching for 2010! I hope 2010 is a wonderful year for you all - my year has certainly been spectacular so far! Enjoy and smile!
