Heading off to work .....

So .... this is my workplace for the next two weeks ..... "Voyager of the Seas" ..... as it cruises from Australia to New Zealand and back again ..... I am tutoring on the Needlework Cruise organised by Needlework Tours and am looking forward to meeting lots of new ladies who will hopefully enjoy the classes I am teaching ....

I will try and blog at some stage, but if I don't I will no doubt have lots of lovely photos to share on my return !    Last night at Needlework there were some beautiful finishes ..... Mary has made this beautiful quilt for a special grandson ...

This is an Anni Downs design and I have seen it done in a couple of different colour ways ... this one looks gorgeous !

And Marie has another lucky grandson receiving this gorgeous "bug quilt" ... I'm sorry I'm sure of the designer but it absolutely beautiful ....

Cute bugs ....

And Asta has just started her own blog called "Yarns from my Sewing Basket" .... she is still working out how to get the photos on there, but pay her a visit (click on the link above) shortly and you should find some treasures .... this is her beautifully worked cushion and you will probably see a photo of this and others on her blog soon .....

A Girls Get Together for Ash

Yesterday we had the most enjoyable lunch with Ashleigh and 18 of her friends ... not a "baby shower" as such but just a get together before the baby arrives .... it was lovely .... such gorgeous friends she has and they all had a great time together ....

Overwhelmed by some gorgeous gifts (although they were all told to bring nothing) ....

Treasured friends .... and Kaz made the most gorgeous white chocolate caramel slice to enjoy ....

Getting ready for lunch ....

More food ....

Two grandmothers in waiting ....  Ann and I ...

Bec designed and painted this beautiful card .... which I am going to try and stitch into a design for the baby .... I love the colours ....

And this afternoon I am packing up my kits and patterns for the Needlework Cruise this week ...

It has been a busy time lately, but I think I might enjoy a relaxing first day at sea later this week before my classes start ....

Back to Needlework

It seems like months, but this week we have started back at our Needlework Group again .. always lovely to catch up with all the ladies again and see what they have been doing for the past couple of months ....   and some of my ladies are putting together hexagons for a charity quilt using this beautiful design by Rosalie Quinlan ... all the fabrics are using the equally gorgeous "Scrumptious" range by Bonnie and Camille ... one of my favourites ....

Such lovely sayings ....

Beautiful colours and stitching ....

Lots more to come to finish off this lovely quilt ....

Lorraine has stitched Annie Downs pencil case in bright colours which looks great !

Dzintra has finished off her Anni Downs "Gardeners Journal" quilt and it looks beautiful ... such a lovely job and Dzintra looks well pleased with her efforts ...

Shirley F has finished off this lovely house quilt with complimenting fabric ...

One of the gorgeous house designs ...

Whoops ... I've cut the top off this masterpiece of Sue's ... Wendy Williams "Hooterville" quilt ... all worked in felts and appliqué fabrics and it looks amazing ...

Jenny has put one of Rosalie Quinlan's elephant designs onto the top of a sewing box ...

And then stitched tiny versions of the same elephant around the sides ... very cute ...

And this is one piece of Jenny's quilt ....  all so inspiring and some beautiful work done by my ladies during their holiday season ....
